The Israeli military on Saturday issued fresh notice and urged all residents of northern Gaza and Gaza City to temporarily relocate south.
"Let me repeat. We urge all residents of northern Gaza and Gaza City to temporarily relocate south," Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari said. "This is a temporary measure. Moving back to northern Gaza will be possible once the intense hostilities end."
Israel has launched massive airstrikes and stepped up ground operations against Gaza in retaliation for a surprise attack by Gaza-ruling Hamas militants on Israeli military targets and towns on October 7.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Saturday vowed to continue operations in the Gaza Strip, targeting tunnels and other infrastructure of Hamas as well as its leaders.
"The instructions for the forces are clear: the operation will continue until a new order," he said in a video statement.
