Israeli forces entered northern Gaza and expanded ground operations in Gaza overnight and the forces are still on the ground and continue fighting, spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Daniel Hagari told a daily media briefing Saturday.
"Infantry, armored, engineering and artillery forces [are] participating in the activity, accompanied by heavy air fire," he said, noting that no Israeli soldiers have been hurt in the expanded ground operation in Gaza so far.
The spokesperson added that Israel would allow trucks carrying food, water and medicine to enter Gaza on Saturday.
