- The Israeli military said on Saturday it had entered northern Gaza overnight and expanded military operations in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

- A Israeli military spokesperson said forces were still on the ground continuing fighting without elaborating. 

- Meanwhile, Palestine confirmed an almost complete interruption of internet and telecommunication in Gaza amid the Israeli strikes, as two communications towers in Gaza had come under the attacks.

- World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Saturday the organization is out of touch with its staff and health facilities in Gaza, urging immediate ceasefire.

- On Friday, the UN General Assembly called for an immediate humanitarian truce, with 120 states voting for a resolution put forward by Jordan.
