UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday reiterated his appeal for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, together with the unconditional release of hostages and the delivery of relief to Gaza.

He said that he's surprised by the unprecedented escalation of bombardments and undermining of humanitarian objectives. "This situation must be reversed," he wrote on social media platform X.
