With a record number of attendees, the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum is being held in Beijing at the Beijing International Conference Centre from October 29 to October 31. Official delegations from over 90 countries and international organizations, including 22 representatives at the defense minister level or higher, and 14 representatives at the military chief level, attended the forum. More than 200 experts from over 50 countries and regions applied to participate in the forum.

This year's forum, with the theme "Common Security, Lasting Peace," focuses on China's Global Security Initiative's cooperation priorities and offers equal opportunity for all parties to voice their opinions. It also discusses security challenges, pursues security solutions, and advances security cooperation. There are eight simultaneous special sessions and four plenary sessions at the event. There will also be an activities seminar and a seminar for young officers and scholars.

Since its founding in 2006, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum – which upholds the principles of "Equality, Openness, Inclusiveness, Mutual Learning" – has grown to become a significant international security forum. The forum is among the top discussion forums for international security policy in the globe. The forum opens the door to addressing issues related to international security, fostering collaboration, and building confidence. It also gives developing nations the ability to express their opinions and participate in the governance of global security. China hosts the platform to promote its viewpoint on critical international and regional security issues and arrange bilateral talks with Participants' officials.

China's Global Security Initiative (GSI) aims for common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security, emphasizing partnership over confrontation. It seeks a security community, promoting cooperation over alliances and conflict resolution. China's commitment to multilateral cooperation and partnerships with the stakeholders through the GSI framework could improve global security dynamics.

In light of the many security issues the globe faces, the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum is one of the most significant gatherings for common security policy formulation worldwide. Participants have convened in Beijing this year to talk about the primary issues facing international security.

Fighting against non-traditional security challenges can help bring the stakeholders together as a common ground. Regarding cyber-crimes, environment and climate change, all stakeholders are capable of cooperating effectively. However, the Security Forum will identify comprehensive security measures to promote peace, progress, and prosperity for all nations. A world of peace and stability benefits all nations.

A delegation from the U.S. Department of Defense is present at the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum. The meeting this year will provide China a chance to present its own security plan and give the U.S. and China a chance to talk about their military relations. However, the U.S.' geopolitical targeting of China must end. Normalization of U.S.-China military diplomacy hinges on the U.S. military's ability to make amends for their behavior and reach an understanding with China. Vice Chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission Xu Qiling held a meeting with representatives of the U.S. military in Fiji in August this year, which was viewed as a sign of a growing relationship between China and the U.S.

Kao Kim Hourn, the Secretary-General of ASEAN, is heading the group from the ASEAN Secretariat to the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum. To strengthen defense cooperation, Dr. Kao is also expected to have several bilateral discussions with the heads of delegation from China and ASEAN member states. It is anticipated that the event will take center stage in regional security and military diplomacy. The Xiangshan Forum's development has served as an indicator of China's evolving self-image and growing strategic influence in the dynamic environment of regional security. The Asia-Pacific region's inclusive, strong, and resilient security architecture can and should be built by the forum, an important security forum, working in tandem with other regional organizations.

Leaders of the Central Military Commission will have bilateral discussions with counterparts from key defense ministries and armed forces at the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum. This conference is a vital chance to network with military officials across the globe to promote alliance partnerships and cooperative connections. However, the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum is now underway, and the unprecedentedly large number of nations and organizations participating demonstrates that many people respect China's views on international security.

By showing support for and active participation in international multilateral activities organized by the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, the delegation's presence at the forum upholds their proactive role and responsibility for addressing regional and global issues. It also fosters high-level exchanges amongst the leaders of the defense ministries. Delegations get the chance to have talks, share opinions, and settle disagreements over defense and security-related matters during the forum. The participants will need to take much more action to influence the guidelines for state-to-state interaction as their talks on a range of international topics pertaining to internal and regional security challenges continue. Building trust and reducing tensions between the nations, as well as looking for long-lasting and widely accepted solutions to offer security in the area and on a larger global scale, would be the meeting's main takeaways.
