Over 70 Chinese films, including the latest productions like popular hit animation "Chang An," were introduced to Russian film distributors during a three-day China-Russian film exchange event held recently in Beijing.

Nine Russian film distributors attended the event organized by the China Film Group Corporation, which aimed to offer Russian moviegoers a more profound insight into Chinese cultural traditions and showcase the country's wider efforts to develop and modernize.
Composed of many different genres, the over 70 titles aired included the 2021 Chinese anthology drama film, "My Country, My Parents," as well as a new film based on "Legends of the Condor Heroes," a novel written by renowned martial arts novelist Louis Cha.
This year, Russian cinemas witnessed a growing appetite among local moviegoers for Chinese movie releases, including the hit sci-fi blockbuster "The Wandering Earth II," in which Russian actor Vitalii Makarychev played Russian pilot Andrey Galaktionov.
In 2017, China and Russia signed film co-production deals under which many films, including "How I Became Russian," were made, kicking off the formal start to comprehensively deepen film exchanges and cooperation between filmmakers from both countries.
