It took Kevin McCarthy four days and 14 failed ballots to finally win his gavel. But victory required a deal with the House Freedom Caucus that allowed any member of the House to call for a vote to oust him from his throne. CGTN spoke with Joseph Williams, former senior editor of U.S. News. He said that agreement planted the seeds of McCarthy's own demise.
