Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen announced on Saturday that he had recalled the country's diplomatic representatives from Türkiye in response to recent comments made by the Turkish president on the Gaza conflict. Earlier on Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Israel was in "a state of insanity" in light of its offensive against the Gaza-ruling Hamas. Türkiye also hosts members of Hamas within its territory, as it sees Hamas as a legitimate political actor.
