Literally translated as "Great Blessing," the ceremony, which is said to have started in 1789, is an opportunity for Hakka people to pay tribute to the gods and divinities, and to pray for a fine harvest and peace in the area.

Held every three years, the event has developed into a large festival-like gathering for the local Hakka people.
