Chinese sci-fi writer Hai Ya won the Hugo Award for Best Novelette at the 81st World Science Fiction Convention in Chengdu. In an exclusive interview with CGTN's Tian Wei, Hai Ya says that his inspiration for the winning novelette "The Space-Time Painter" is from an ancient Chinese painting. He says that it's curiosity that drives him to create science fiction. And as a "slashie," he points that the most important thing is to effectively partition his time and focus between his day job and his writing hobby.
