Team China's Olympic champion Chen Yufei won back-to-back BWF Tour women's singles titles on Sunday, easing past Team Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-ying 21-17, 22-20 in the French Open after she triumphed in the Denmark Open last week against Rio Olympics champion Carolina Marin of Spain.

Chen wrote on social media after the win that she could finally say goodbye to the past two years, when she constantly felt she wasn't good enough, and that she wasn't able to face the inner struggle. "I'll have to better myself from last year before I battle anyone else. The road ahead is far, but I'm set to get where I want to be as long as I made up my mind to start," she wrote.

Team China's shuttlers also ascended the podium in the mixed doubles and women's doubles events. Mixed duo Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin persevered for 56 minutes to outplay Tang Chun-man and Tse Ying-suet of Hong Kong, China 21-17, 15-21, 21-12. Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning overcame Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai of Thailand 26-24, 21-19 to win the women's doubles title.

In the men's singles showdown with China's emerging star Li Shifeng, Indonesia's fifth seed Jonatan Christie rebounded after a 21-16 loss in the first game, and won the subsequent games 21-15, 21-14 to secure his inaugural title at BWF Super 750 level.

In the men's doubles, Denmark's Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen emerged victorious over Indonesian duo Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Bagas Maulana 21-14, 10-21, 21-18.
