Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed it fired drones toward Israel on Tuesday in retaliation for its conflict with Hamas, AFP news agency reported, citing a senior official.
"These drones belong to the state of Yemen," Abdelaziz bin Habtour, prime minister of the Houthi government, said when asked about drones launched toward Eilat in southern Israel.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli media outlets reported that Israel had shot down a drone over the Red Sea. The reports said the drone was intercepted outside Eilat, a southern Israeli port and resort town on the Red Sea near Jordan.
