The Shanghai Book Mall on Fuzhou Road in the downtown area of the city recently reopened after nearly two years of renovation work, and it now features a splendid modern facade. A famous city landmark, it was the first large-scale retail bookstore in Shanghai and boasts a century-long history. As well as the vast selection of books on offer, the bookstore also stocks audio-visual products and electronic publications and has a number of public reading spaces and a special exhibition area.
