China is taking steps to make the first China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) a new platform for high-level opening up, and has completed exhibitor recruitment work of the expo, a spokesperson said Tuesday.

The CISCE is set to be held in Beijing from November 28 to December 2, with the theme of "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," said Zhang Xin with the expo host, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

Over 25 percent of all confirmed some 400 participants come from overseas, covering 50 countries and regions such as the U.S., South Africa, Mexico and France, Zhang added.

The exhibition booths will be categorized into various sections, including smart vehicles, green agriculture, clean energy, digital technology and healthy lifestyles, according to Zhang.

Professional services regarding business consulting and multilingual translation will be provided for participants at the expo, said the spokesperson.

In August, the CCPIT unveiled a mascot at a 100-day countdown launch ceremony.

"Its name is Linky, meaning we are all closely linked by the global supply chain," said CCPIT chairman Ren Hongbin.

"We aim to let world business leaders see more of how upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises work together at our supply chain expo. Such collaborations, once formed, will be the most long-term and sustainable," said Ren, adding that "we are all connected for a shared future."
