The third China-Cambodia think tank high-level forum opened Wednesday in Beijing. Scholars from the two countries discussed how to enhance bilateral cooperation.

KIN PHEA Director General, Royal Academy of Cambodia "First, we need to encourage people to people exchange. This is the first important thing for me. Second, I think the trade exchange between the two countries is also very important, because the two countries have signed a free-trade agreement and we can promote more. Thirdly, we should increase investment, and China is the first largest investor for Cambodia. Fourth, to promote tourism sector is also very important."

LI XIANGYANG Director, National Institute of International Strategy, CASS "To build a shared future, we need lots of cooperation and effort. China and Cambodia signed a free trade agreement in 2022, and the two countries also promote a 'industrial development corridor' under the Belt and Road Initiative. Then we establish a Lancang River and Mekong River Cooperation mechanism and a 'diamond hexagon cooperation consensus' to promote bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, security and energy."
