A disreputable company

Japan has started releasing the third batch of nuclear-contaminated water into the ocean on November 2, dumping about 7,800 tons of the tainted water over 17 days. Recently, radioactive waste water was splashed onto workers at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, which has again exposed ingrained problems at Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). During the past years since the Fukushima nuclear accident, TEPCO's handling of the aftermath has been highly problematic. It has delayed reporting and covered up accidents, tampered with important data, and prioritized business interests despite environmental concerns over people's health and safety. How then can a company that has fallen into such disrepute reassure people about Japan's self-claimed "safe and transparent" ocean discharge scheme?
