Due to years of war and conflict, athletes of the Afghanistan wheelchair basketball team have become disabled due to shrapnel attacks, leftover landmines in conflict zones, or the unavailability of polio vaccines. In the just-concluded Hangzhou Asian Para Games, the team exemplified the spirit of sportsmanship through their relentless efforts on the field.
