Japan begins third round of nuclear-contaminated water discharge into the sea

Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Company has initiated a third round of discharging nuclear-contaminated water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The total amount of nuclear-contaminated water discharged into the sea will be approximately 7,800 tonnes, and the process is expected to continue until January 20, 2024. A fourth round of discharges will begin in early 2024 to release about 31,200 tonnes.
