A massive tunnel boring machine has been built in China to excavate a new underground section of the Beijing-Tianjin high-speed rail line. Named Beijing-Tianjin Synergy, the machine is 123 meters long with an excavation diameter of 13.8 meters and weighs 2,900 tonnes. It was assembled at a China Railway Construction Corporation Heavy Industry (CRCHI) base in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province.
