China's special envoy for climate change, Xie Zhenhua, will hold talks with his U.S. counterpart, John Kerry, in California from November 4 to 7, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment said on Thursday.

The two sides will exchange views on how to advance climate action and collaboration, and push for the success of the United Nations climate change conference in Dubai, according to a statement issued by the ministry.

The 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is scheduled to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12.

Xie and Kerry last met in Beijing in July, when the two sides had what they described as candid, in-depth and constructive dialogues on implementing the China-U.S. Joint Statement Addressing the Climate Crisis and the China-U.S. Joint Glasgow Declaration on Enhancing Climate Action in the 2020s.
