Netanyahu says no ceasefire with Hamas until hostages freed

Israel will not agree to any temporary ceasefire with Hamas until the more than 240 hostages seized by the Islamist movement during its attack on October 7 are released, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday.

"Israel refuses a temporary ceasefire that does not include the return of our hostages," he said during a televised address.
