The Director-General of the Department of Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Miao Deyu held foreign policy planning consultations with Salman Ahmed, director of the U.S. Secretary of State's Policy Planning Staff, in Vienna on November 1, said the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The two sides exchanged views on the international and regional situation, respective domestic and foreign policies, and other issues of mutual interest and concern, said the ministry in a statement.
