People in Gaza are using donkey carts for transportation after fuel and gas ran out in the enclave as the latest conflict with Israel continues. In Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, many cars are parked on the roadside because no fuel is available. Horse-drawn carriages and donkey carts have replaced them as the primary mode of transport. However, livestock feed is fast becoming insufficient. Maher Shaheen was evacuated from Al-Zana, and he said that "there is no life" since the conflict began. He cannot even feed his children. "We drive donkey carts all day long for 30 shekels every day. Life is over for us in Gaza. We are back to the primitive times," he said.
