Protests in favour of Palestine took place around the world over the weekend. Crowds gathered to march outside the White House in Washington, D.C., whilst demonstrators at sizeable rallies in numerous cities, such as London, Paris, Berlin and Sydney, called for a cessation of hostilities in Gaza. The demonstrations took place as Israeli ground forces reinforced their blockade of the Gaza Strip in an effort to eradicate Hamas.
