By carefully designing the visiting routes, exhibition areas and forms of presentation, the organizers managed to maximize the use of their gallery space to offer visitors three independent, yet closely related, exhibitions.
In the exhibition titled "Meeting Ancient Painters Through Their Works", a total of 44 individual works and sets of paintings were put on display to help visitors better understand the spiritual world of the ancient Chinese literati through a dialogue spanning both space and time.

Through the exhibition "Fun and Functional Curios," visitors were able to see the kinds of tools the ancient Chinese literati used to create their calligraphy and painting works. The 188 pieces and sets of stationery – ranging from brush pens, brush pots, inkstones to seals and signets – also helped spectators gain a better sense of what the studies of ancient Chinese literati looked like.

At the same time, visitors to the museum also had the opportunity to see the books ancient Chinese literati read and wrote. The 116 sets of selected books forming the "Thousands of Books by Scholars" exhibition of ancient books discovered in Guangxi also provided context as to their origins, production, content and inheritances.
