As night falls, the Longmen Grottoes are bathed in the warm glow of illuminations that showcase their ancient splendor. Located in Luoyang City, Henan Province, the Longmen Grottoes feature tens of thousands of statues, caves and niches that perfectly reflect ancient Buddhist culture and craft skills in China. Listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 2000, the Longmen Grottoes have long been considered as a treasure trove of Northern Wei Dynasty (386–534) and Tang Dynasty (618–907) Buddhist art.
