South Korea is a developed country, where industrial and technological change came relatively rapidly, yet certain cultural values have been slower to change. This is a significant part of why South Korea is facing the challenge of being an aging society. If South Korea is to continue to thrive, it will need to find creative ways to address this societal problem.
