A recent global online poll conducted by CGTN showed that more than 90 percent of the respondents believed that China's hosting of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the last six years has fully released a strong signal of its continued high-level opening-up to the outside world. This will be an important opportunity for a turbulent world and a world economy with a weak recovery.

The survey was released on CGTN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian platforms, with more than 10,000 netizens voting and expressing their opinions within 24 hours.

In the survey, about 83.6 percent of global respondents believe that the popularity of the CIIE reflects the strong confidence of global business in free trade and open markets. Meanwhile, some 86.8 percent believe that the CIIE has become an important platform for enterprises to find certainty in an uncertain international environment.

A CGTN follower says, "Every country should take this opportunity to participate." Countries should share opportunities and pursue collaborative development to achieve win-win cooperation.

Openness is the lifeline of the world economy. The turbulent global environment has emphasized the value of this lifeline. According to the survey, 82.5 percent of global respondents believe that countries should promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and actively build an open economy, so that win-win cooperation can benefit the world, and 87.2 percent praised China's efforts to safeguard economic globalization, believing that China has played an essential role in promoting the recovery of the world economy and realizing more balanced, coordinated and sustainable development.

The sixth CIIE drew participants from 154 countries, regions and international organizations around the world, with 289 of the world's top 500 companies and industry leaders showcasing their latest arrivals. More than 400 new products, technologies and services made their debut. Eleven countries exhibit for the first time and 34 countries display their brands offline for the first time. The U.S. government has officially set up a pavilion, also for the first time.
