Camel skin lamps from Pakistan are being exhibited at this year's China International Import Expo in Shanghai, shining brightly with their history of 900 years. Originating in the Pakistani city of Multan, the lamps are made from the skin of sacrificial camels, which go through the processes of cleaning, drying, modeling and then painting before they are crafted into lamps. Considered an intangible craft of the South Asian country, it is understood that a group of around 30 to 60 artisans still make these traditional lamps from camel skin, which are often sourced from the Cholistan Desert.
