One of the highlights of this year's World Internet Conference (WIC) is the opening of the World Internet Science and Technology Museum, which showcases the key technologies, figures and events related to the internet.
Located in the thousand-year-old water town Wuzhen, the museum has a total construction area of about 43,000 square meters. The exterior of the museum is mainly white, which makes it stand out from the dark buildings around it, creating an ink painting-like landscape.

The museum has six exhibition areas. It demonstrates the development of internet and the latest technological achievements. It also offers immersive experiences of the future internet technology.
"As I know, the museum is the first large-scale internet-themed science and technology museum," Li Xiaodong, member of the expert committee of the museum, said at the opening ceremony of the museum on Tuesday.
"We hope to look through history to see future trends, and we hope to make the internet more capable to benefit mankind," he said.
The expert sees the museum as a bridge connecting China and the world.
"We can let more Chinese people learn about the history and the progress of technology of the world internet through the museum, and let foreign guests learn about China through the museum," said Li.
The 2023 WIC, with the theme "Creating an Inclusive and Resilient Digital World Beneficial to All – Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace," is held from Wednesday to Friday.
