China firmly opposes and complains against the irresponsible remarks attacking China in the statement of the G7 Foreign Ministers' meeting, and has lodged for solemn representations with Japan, spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Japan said on Thursday.

China firmly safeguards its territorial sovereignty, maritime rights and interests, the spokesperson said, adding that China strongly opposes other countries' attempts to suppress China under the pretext of the Taiwan question and meddling in China's internal affairs under the pretext of human rights.
