During the current conflict, CGTN met a Palestinian graffiti artist in Bethlehem on the West Bank, named Taquies Batin. In June 2002, Israel began constructing a security barrier along the pre-1967 border with Palestine. Israel calls it a necessary measure to stop violence, while Palestinians see it as a form of racial segregation. The barrier stretches for 708 kilometers and is 8 meters high. To Taquies, this giant wall is his canvas. He regularly spray-paints designs on it, beneath the watchtowers and barbed wire, recording the history of conflict between Israel and Palestine, and expressing his opposition to violence.
