The 12th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Conference and Fair (APEC SMETC), a three-day event, kicked off in the eastern Chinese coastal city of Qingdao on Thursday.
This year's APEC SMETC, themed "Digital Innovation Drives Sustainable Development, Win-win Cooperation Aspires Greater Prosperity," delves into various crucial topics. These include the digital transformation of SMEs, technological innovation and development, green low-carbon initiatives, as well as advancements in artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
The primary objective of this new exhibition is to foster technical exchanges and enhance economic and trade collaboration among the member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
Spanning an expansive 50,000 square meters, the exhibition hall has attracted representatives from over 1,600 enterprises across APEC member economies and the Belt and Road Initiative partner countries.
As a significant project under the APEC framework, the APEC SMETC has been a staple for 11 editions since its inception in 1996. The latest edition is co-hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology along with the People's Government of Shandong Province.
