The hillside is adorned with cattle and sheep indulging in the aromatic grasses.

About Journeys in Nature: Life in Sanjiangyuan Series

In the hinterland of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, the Sanjiangyuan area is home to the headwaters of the Yangtze, Yellow and Lancang rivers, thus crowned as Asia's "water tower." On this fragile land rich in biodiversity, locals, scientists and NGOs work together to protect the wildlife and the environment. This series explores the diverse eco-friendly lifestyles of locals.
