The number of Palestinians killed during the bombardment of the coastal enclave in the past five weeks rose above 11,000, according to Gaza health officials.  In Israel, after a downwards revision, the death toll now stands at more than 1,200. Israel says 100,000 Palestinians have moved southwards in Gaza in the last two days.

The Israeli army has besieged the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza amid heavy clashes with the Palestinian militants in the territory, Palestinian security sources said Saturday. The spokesperson for the Gaza health ministry said that operations in the Al Shifa Hospital complex, the largest in the Palestinian enclave, were suspended on Saturday after it ran out of fuel.
