Fighting has intensified between Israeli forces and Hamas militants near and around Gaza City's besieged and overcrowded hospitals. Gaza officials said missiles landed on November 10 in the courtyard of Al Shifa, the enclave's biggest hospital. The Israeli military later said a misfired projectile launched by Palestinian militants had hit Al-Shifa. The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said Israel had bombed the hospital's buildings five times. It added that over 11,000 Palestinians have been killed, while Israel revised down its death toll to around 1,200.
