Thousands more people have fled northern Gaza, heading for the south as Israeli troops continue to strike the coastal enclave. Due to an interruption in fuel supplies, Gazans, including the elderly, children and pregnant women, can only walk or take horse-drawn carriages, carrying limited belongings with them. In addition, they face the threat of air strikes. A local resident who was evacuated to the Gaza Valley in the central strip said that he had walked 15 kilometers to get there. His wife was expecting to soon give birth, but she had to walk too.
