The Philadelphia Orchestra is back in China 50 years after its historic trip in 1973, when it became the first American orchestra to visit the country. From November 9th to 18th, it will be performing concerts and organizing residency activities in Beijing, Tianjin, Suzhou and Shanghai. The Vibe sat down with Matias Tarnopolsky, president and CEO of the orchestra, as he reflected on the connections and cultural exchanges it has forged with China, shared its goals for this trip, and more.
