The office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Gaza City was shelled, which "reportedly resulted in a significant number of deaths and injuries" among those seeking refuge within the compound, stated the UNDP in a late Saturday issued statement.
The compound was managed by UNDP's Program of Assistance to the Palestinian People until October 13 when UN staff vacated the premises, the agency said.
"Civilians, civilian infrastructure, and the inviolability of UN facilities, must be respected and protected at all times," the agency added.
