As China's trade with Central Asia blossoms, land ports on the border in northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are experiencing new growth opportunities. The demand for Chinese vehicles, especially electric ones, has created the latest gold rush for exporters. In the first nine months of this year, nearly 200,000 vehicles went out of Horgos, up 300 percent from last year. Nearly one-fifth are electric, up by 500 percent. Chinese companies and Kazakh drivers are coming to Horgos to jump on this growth train.
