As many as 86 percent of respondents to a global online poll conducted by CGTN believe that the key to maintaining the healthy and stable development of China-U.S. relations is to take practical measures to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries at their meeting in Bali in November 2022.

Compared to a poll conducted four months ago, the proportion holding this view has risen by 4.1 percentage points.

Ninety-one percent of respondents believe the healthy development of China-U.S. relations should be based on mutual respect and equal treatment. The proportion of respondents who share this opinion has increased by 2.1 percentage points from four months ago.

Meanwhile, 92 percent of respondents believe China-U.S. relations are not a zero-sum game, and any attempt to transform and contain the other side is unrealistic. The proportion of respondents holding the same view increased by 8.3 percentage points over the past four months.

According to 83.2 percent of respondents, China and the U.S. should objectively understand each other's strategic intents, effectively deal with competitive factors in China-U.S. relations and discover commonalities. Seventy-seven percent of respondents urged the two countries to maintain full communication, prevent misunderstanding and miscalculation, and push China-U.S. relations to return to a healthy and stable development track as soon as possible. As one netizen said, "An open dialogue between the two great powers of China and the U.S. will bring fruitful results for all mankind."

Some 73.5 percent of worldwide respondents say that China and the United States should increase collaboration in areas such as energy, food security and climate change to improve global governance. Another 65.8 percent of respondents urged China and the U.S. to expand collaboration in areas such as resolving regional conflicts and tackling global governance challenges, and contribute the wisdom of great powers to world prosperity.

The poll was released on CGTN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian platforms, with more than 10,000 netizens voting within 24 hours. CGTN released global online polls in February, July and November this year on China-U.S. relations, with a total of more than 70,000 global netizens participating and expressing their views.
