Thomas Sudhof, a German physiologist in the field of synaptic transmission research, won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for solving the mystery of the vesicle transport system. What does he think about the importance of brain cell research? As we enter an aging society, what role can physiologists play? What misunderstandings do people have about scientists? What qualities of scientific research talents are most important? What is the current status of international cooperation in the scientific community?

With a series of questions, CGTN reporter Liu Jiaxin sat down with Professor Thomas Sudhof to learn about his passion for the fundamental sciences and gets his take on the need for global scientific cooperation.
