The Terracotta Warriors were discovered around the site of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's mausoleum in Xi'an, Shaanxi in 1974. Here, we would find thousands of life-sized terracotta soldiers, horses and chariots that were buried to guard this 1st emperor of the Qin Dynasty over 2,200 years ago. With the excavation and restoration of the terracotta figures still ongoing, more warriors are expected to be restored from the fragments of pottery unearthed at the site. Join Rachel for a look at the three main pits where the Terracotta Warriors were found.
