Elyn MacInnis is the lead researcher at the Kuliang Tourism and Culture Association. Over the past 100 years, her family has forged profound bonds with China. Her father-in-law Donald MacInnis came to China during World War II to help the American pilots volunteer group, "The Flying Tigers" fight the Japanese. She herself, along with her husband and two daughters have lived in China for nearly three decades. The couple called their daughters Aizhong and Aihua, which together mean "to love China." Whenever she's asked why she loves China so much, she simply replies that she needs no reason, and it's just natural for her.
