Red Ribbon: China's first immersive Long March experience in Guizhou

After two years of creation, design, and construction, China's first comprehensive immersive digital experience hall themed around the Long March, known as the "Red Ribbon," has been officially completed in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. It began its trial operations on November 22.

The Red Army is the forerunner of China's People's Liberation Army. And Guizhou witnessed the longest duration and widest scope of the Red Army's struggles during the Long March in the 1930s, and has an abundance of related historical and cultural resources. The "Red Ribbon" project utilizes cutting-edge digital and audio-visual technology to narrate the story of the Long March to the world through a digital medium.
The "Red Ribbon" project consists of two main performances. One employs AI virtual interaction, full-dimensional mechanical movement, 3D sound fields, and other state-of-the-art technologies. It combines changes in space and images to digitally recreate a panoramic overview of the Red Army's journey. From this panoramic perspective, audiences can vividly experience major historical revolutionary events such as the "Zunyi Conference," "Four Crossings of the Chishui River," and the "Crossing of the Jinsha River."

The other performance is the first 8K movie-grade LED dome flying cinema in Guizhou. The flying cinema uses a hanging-riding device combined with a giant LED dome system. Through this multi-degree-of-freedom experience, audiences can appreciate the beauty of Guizhou from all directions, angles and perspectives.
