China successfully launched its New Generation Ocean Color Observation Satellite HY-3-01 Thursday from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The scientific research satellite, part of the Civilian Space Infrastructure, has major improvements over past models, and is set to enhance China's ability to monitor and study the oceanic environment.
