SCO & Central Asia: Enhancing regional security and global cooperation

CGTN

28:44

Established in 2001, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is tasked with a special focus on regional security, stability and development, and thus is instrumental for the security and defense exchanges featured in the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, a similar China-initiated platform to address regional security issues. How do the two mechanisms of the SCO and the Xiangshan Forum benefit one another and reinforce each other? How have they done in maintaining peace and security among member nations and the region? How will the expansion of the SCO contribute to addressing regional and global issues? In this episode, we invited Vladimir Norov, former minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and former SCO Secretary-General, to join the discussion.
