Xi-Biden meeting: Effect on trade, business confidence
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday, in what has been described as a candid and in-depth exchange on top issues. President Xi said major-country competition is far from the solution to problems facing China, the U.S. or the world at large. He noted that the world is big enough for both nations to succeed, and that "one country's success is an opportunity for the other. "
The APEC region's GDP grew by 3.3 percent in the first half of 2023, yet APEC's prospects are beset by supply chain disruptions, debt, climate change and geopolitics.
