Editor's Note: As China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) celebrates its 10th anniversary, world leaders were invited to take stock and chart a new course for the next decade at the third BRI Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing from October 17-18. Pakistan is one of the countries that have hugely benefited from BRI infrastructure projects over the years, cementing the China-Pakistan ironclad friendship and deepening their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Wang Guan sat down with Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar. He tells Wang Guan that he was impressed by China's development and modernization and that the BRI is a reflection of China's self-confidence. Kakar heaps praise on what the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has already achieved. He rejects the "China containment policy," calling it "unnatural," and considers that the Bretton Wood order has become "dogmatic." Kakar also remarks that Western media have misrepresented Pakistan and failed to depict his country's true identity and soul.
