China's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Zhang Jun on November 20 called for mutual respect and common development to support maintaining international peace.
Speaking at an open debate on the promotion of sustainable peace through common development convened by China, the rotating president of the UN Security Council for November, Zhang said his country is working to promote a deeper and broader perspective on security issues and addressing the weak link of development, which is the pillar to solve all problems.
China is committed to seeking comprehensive and effective ways to promote lasting peace, he said.
